Become an i-ACT Ambassador

Build Community, Connect Individuals, Raise Money

As an i-ACT Ambassador, your valuable time and energy is spent building a community that seeks to change the way the world responds to genocide. Now, this challenge may sound large, but by connecting to the personal voices and faces of the genocide in Darfur, our communities will be more inspired then ever to take quality action and make concrete changes, both locally and internationally. i-ACT (interactive-activism) begins with simple and small actions that connect you with an individual like Adam. Once you are connected, you introduce your friends and family to Adam, or Selma, or Ahmet. Through these relationships, change begins.

As an i-ACT Ambassador, you will reach out to your community to help financially support the growth of this global community. By becoming a member of this monthly donor program you will:

  1. Make a monthly contribution (via check, paypal or credit card) to ensure that i-ACT can continue our work;
  2. Receive monthly video updates and actions from i-ACT team members;
  3. Participate in live video conversations with refugees when the i-ACT team is on the ground in Darfur refugee camps;
  4. Form deep personal relationships with refugees, communicate with them using innovative technology, and send/receive video and photo messages;
  5. Be encouraged to share your relationship the relationship formed with Darfuris with your local community through informal conversations, events, presentations, and fund raising efforts.

As an i-ACT Ambassador, you are raising awareness and funds, but most importantly you are joining a community.

Host an i-ACT Fundraiser in your community!

Participate in the SGN/i-ACT network by raising money and creating community!

In thinking about ways to help SGN and i-ACT fundraise, the best place to start is with you. What do you already spend your time doing? Do you belong to any clubs or organized groups who engage in an activity? How can you integrate your activities into raising awareness and money for Darfur? Sometimes the best gatherings are small and intimate rather than ones that draw a few hundred people. The most successful and creative fundraisers are those that integrate your life and advocacy. We will provide you with the tools you need: brochures, pictures and a DVD of our time in Chad, donation forms and anything else, just ask!

To begin, contact our Director of Community Outreach, Katie-Jay Scott at ktj (at) stopgenocidenow.org.
